U.S. Embassy in Ukraine is looking to fill the position of Agricultural Specialist

Basic Function of Position:

The position covers the geographical region of Ukraine and Moldova. The incumbent plans strategies and writes complex reports and serves as institutional knowledge to expertly advise the Agricultural Officer (AO) on production, consumption, trade, policy, and actors (government and private sector) for grains, oilseeds, sugar and other products assigned. Plans, advises and assists the AO on activities related to agricultural biotechnology and market development. S/he assists with preparations for negotiations on agricultural trade with the United States. Develops and maintains contacts with senior host government, public and private sector officials.  Reviews plans, recommends market strategies, and resolves trade conflicts for U.S. exporters or importers of U.S. products. The incumbent will also perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• M.S. or equivalent in agricultural economics, natural resource economics, economics or MBA is required;
• Five years of progressively responsible experience in agricultural economics, agribusiness development, or closely related field is required;
• Level IV (fluent) in English, Ukrainian and Russian is required.

The compensation is set at 28. 811$ (gross per year). Final salary rate will commensurate with experience of successful candidate, and will grow as the candidate acquires experience. Responsibilities:

• EERC seeks to fill the position of Director of the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE).
• The Director also serves as the President of EERC, Inc., a U.S. not-for-profit corporation that administers the KSE and its Research Network.
• The Director will provide leadership for KSEs 2-year MA programs in Economic Analysis and Financial Economics; and for its Research Network.

 Requirements:

• The successful candidate must possess outstanding leadership skills and the management and creative talents required to lead the Kyiv School of Economics through the 21st Century.
