Несмотря на то, что до первых дэдлайнов ведущих бизнес-школ мира остается еще несколько месяцев, написание эссе не стоит откладывать на потом. Yale SOM Essay Topics 2010-2011

Абитуриентам Yale SOM нужно будет дать короткий ответ на четыре вопроса и написать два более развернутых эссе.

Duke / Fuqua Essay Topics 2010-2011

Columbia Business School Essay Topics 2010-2011

The essay topics are below:
Essay 1
What are your short-term and long-term post-MBA goals? How will Columbia Business School help you achieve these goals? (Recommended 750 word limit)
Essay 2
Please tell us about yourself and your personal interests. The goal of this essay is to get a sense of who you are, rather than what you have achieved professionally. (Recommended 500 word limit)
Optional Essay
Is there any further information that you wish to provide to the Admissions Committee? (Please use this space to provide an explanation of any areas of concern in your academic record or your personal history.)
Reapplication Essay
How have you enhanced your candidacy since your previous application? Please detail your progress since you last applied and reiterate your short-term and long-term goals. Explain how the tools of the Columbia Business School will help you to meet your goals and how you plan to participate in the Columbia community. (Recommended 750 word limit).

UPenn / Wharton Essay Topics 2010-2011

Essay 1
Required; 750-1000 words. As a leader in global business, Wharton is committed to sustaining “a truly global presence through its engagement in the world.” What goals are you committed to and why? How do you envision the Wharton MBA contributing to the attainment of those goals?
Essay 2
Required; 750-1000 words. Tell us about a time when you had to adapt by accepting/understanding the perspective of people different from yourself.
Essay 3
Required; 500 words. Describe a failure that you have experienced. What role did you play, and what did you learn about yourself?
Essay 4
Required; 500 words. Choose one of the following:
1. Give us a specific example of a time when you solved a complex problem.
2. Tell us about something significant that you have done to improve yourself, in either your professional and/or personal endeavors.
Essay 5
Optional; 250 words. If you feel there are extenuating circumstances of which the Committee should be aware, please explain them here (e.g., unexplained gaps in work experience, choice of recommenders, inconsistent or questionable academic performance, significant weaknesses in your application).

Please describe a time when you went beyond what was defined, expected, established, or popular. (500 words or fewer, limited to one page)

Please describe a time when you convinced an individual or group to accept one of your ideas. (500 words or fewer, limited to one page)

Essay 3
Please describe a time when you took responsibility for achieving an objective. (500 words or fewer, limited to one page)

Stanford GSB Essay Topics 2010-2011

Essay 1: What matters most to you, and why?

Essay 2: What are your career aspirations? What do you need to learn at Stanford to achieve them?

Essay 3: Answer two of the four questions below. Tell us not only what you did but also how you did it. What was the outcome? How did people respond? Only describe experiences that have occurred during the last three years.

Option A: Tell us about a time when you built or developed a team whose performance exceeded expectations.
Option B: Tell us about a time when you made a lasting impact on your organization.
Option C: Tell us about a time when you generated support from others for an idea or initiative.
Option D: Tell us about a time when you went beyond what was defined, established, or expected.

Все три эссе в сумме должны быть не более 1,800 слов. Приемная комиссия  Stanford рекомендует 750 слов для  Essay 1, 450 слов для Essay 2 и 300 слов для каждого ответа на Essay 3. 


 Northwestern / Kellogg 2010-2011

Для аппликантов грядущей вступительной кампании Northwestern / Kellogg подготовил новый список тем для эссе.  Вопросы для эссе и требования остались прежними – абитуриенты должны будут предоставить 3 эссе по 600 слов и одно эссе до 400 слов:

Essay #1
a) Briefly assess your career progress to date. Elaborate on your future career plans and your motivation for pursuing an MBA. (600 word limit)

Describe your key leadership experiences and evaluate what leadership areas you hope to develop through your MBA experiences (600 word limit).

Assume you are evaluating your application from the perspective of a student member of the Kellogg Admissions Committee. Why would you and your peers select you for admission, and what impact would you make as a member of the Kellogg community? (600 word limit).
Essay #4
Complete one of the following three questions or statements. (400 word limit).
a) Describe an instance where you encountered resistance in a professional team setting. How did you address the situation?

Michigan / Ross Essay Topics 2010-2011

London Business School Essay Topics 2010-2011

 London Business School немного изменила темы эссе для сезона 2010-2011. В этом году аппликанты должны будут писать по пять эссе. Темы эссе в LBS следующие:

In what role do you see yourself working in immediately after graduation and what is your longer term career vision?

Give a specific example of when you have had to test your leadership and team working skills. Given this experience what role will you play in a first year study group?

Student involvement is an extremely important part of the London Business School MBA experience and this is reflected in the character of students on campus. Please describe how you will contribute to student clubs and the community and why?

Question 4 (300 words)
London Business School offers a truly global and diverse experience. Describe any significant experiences outside of your home country or culture. What did you gain and how will your experience contribute to London Business School?

Chicago Booth Essay Topics Fall 2011

1. The Admissions Committee is interested in learning more about you on both a personal and professional level. Please answer the following (maximum of 300 words for each section):
a. Why are you pursuing a full-time MBA at this point in your life?
b. Define your short and long term career goals post MBA.
c. What is it about Chicago Booth that is going to help you reach your goals?

d. RE-APPLICANTS ONLY: Upon reflection, how has your thinking regarding your future, Chicago Booth, and/or getting an MBA changed since the time of your last application? 

2. Chicago Booth is a place that challenges its students to stretch and take risks that they might not take elsewhere. Tell us about a time when you took a risk and what you learned from that experience (maximum of 750 words).

3. At Chicago Booth, we teach you HOW to think rather than what to think. With this in mind, we have provided you with “blank pages” in our application. Knowing that there is not a right or even a preferred answer allows you to demonstrate to the committee your ability to navigate ambiguity and provide information that you believe will support your candidacy for Chicago Booth.

4. There are many ways to learn about our program, what steps have you taken to learn about the Berkeley MBA? (250-word maximum)

1. Give us an example of a situation in which you displayed leadership. (500 word maximum)
2. What are your post-MBA short-term and long-term career goals? How do your professional experiences relate to these goals? How will an MBA from Berkeley help you achieve these specific career goals? (1000 word maximum)


Dartmouth / Tuck

Для аппликантов грядущей вступительной кампании Dartmouth / Tuck подготовил новый список тем для эссе.  Размер каждого эссе подаваемого в школу должен быть 500 слов. Темы эссе следующие: 

 Essay 1
Why is an MBA a critical next step toward your short- and long-term career goals? Why is Tuck the best MBA program for you? (If you are applying for a joint or dual degree, please explain how the additional degree will contribute to those goals.)

Essay 2
Discuss your most meaningful leadership experience. What did you learn about your own individual strengths and weaknesses through this experience?

Essay 3
What is the greatest challenge or hurdle you have overcome, either personally or professionally, and how did you manage to do so?

Essay 4
Tuck seeks candidates of various backgrounds who can bring new perspectives to our community. How will your unique personal history, values, and/or life experiences contribute to the culture at Tuck?
Applicants should note that although there is no prescribed restriction on the length of the essays, on average most Tuck applicants use 500 words for each response.
